STOP Diesel Fuel Gelling
Diesel fuel contains paraffin wax which adds power when the fuel is combusted in the engine, but paraffin wax solidifies when the temperatures drop.
Solving your problem with diesel fuel gelling in cold weather is easy. Wrap our Universal Fuel Filter Preheater around the filter to eliminate the gelling for vehicles, equipment, generator sets, stand-by engines, compressors, etc. The 12v and 24v models are designed without thermostats. Install and wire through the ignition switch to ensure a positive shut off of the Preheater when the fuel flow stops. When ready to start the vehicle, turn the key on and allow the Preheater to heat for two to four minutes (depending upon how cold it is). Then crank the engine and operate with the Preheater continuously on in cold weather to protect against wind chill that could cause new gelling in the filter.
Use one of our fuel preheaters to improve operational effectiveness.
Caution: Do not allow the 12v or 24v Universal Filter Preheater to heat when the fuel is not flowing, except on start up. It will damage the Filter Preheater.
